Dr. Mark Tarlton
Motorola Labs
Dr. Mark Tarlton is a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff in Motorola
Labs where is a leading researcher in visual communications.
Mark has over 25 years experience in imaging and interactive graphics. Before
joining Motorola, he was on the research staff of the AT&T's Human Interface
Technology Center and at the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corp
(MCC) in Austin, TX. In both labs he led research teams on interactive 3D graphics
and software frameworks for intelligent graphical user interfaces. In the early
1980's he was a member of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the University
of Kansas Medical Center where he helped create the first operational Picture
Archiving and Communications system (PACS) for radiology.
Dr Tarlton has over forty research publications in medical imaging, interactive
graphics, and visualization. He holds a doctorate in Computer Science from
the University of Texas and Masters and Bachelors degrees in Computer Science
from the University of Kansas.
